Saturdays victory at North Ferriby was very pleasing. There are no free wins in this league and despite Ferribys lowly position they are a strong physical side with plenty of experience, so a win there was never going to be easy. It was all the more satisfying as we had to complete the game with 10 men after Danny Boshell’s harsh red card. I thought that the reaction of some of the Ferriby players to the tackle was a disgrace and the referee was weak and allowed himself to be influenced by this in showing a red card rather than the yellow that everyone was expecting. We were comfortable however in dealing with Ferribys attacks and looked dangerous on the counter attack ourselves and should probably have won more comfortably in the end.
It was great for Oli Johnson to get on the score sheet again on Saturday. He’s having a productive season in front of goal and both him and Adam Boyes are each on course to hit 20 goals for the season.
Look forward to seeing you all on Saturday
