The Avenue ladies take on Ossett in the FA Cup today

posted in: Ladies Team News, News | 0

Bradford (Park Avenue) ladies take on Ossett United today in the Ladies FA Cup. It what will be the very first competitive match to played on the newly laid 3G surface.

Manager Neal Asquith –
After a largely succesful pre season we are looking to carry the form and momentum that we have built, into the game with local rivals Ossett United from a higher division. In our, and the clubs, first competitive game on the new 3g pitch. With 3 debutants in the team today we are expecting a great game

Martin Knight –
We are really excited to be hosting the first competitive game at the Horsfall since the new pitch was laid. It’s clearly very disappointing that the fans won’t be able to enjoy the game or see the huge amount of work that has been done around the ground by the army of incredible volunteers from West Bowling and Bradford (Park Avenue). Neal’s building a strong squad and we wish good luck for today’s tricky FA Cup tie.

The showcase game is unfortunately being played behind closed doors, so in a further test of the live streaming, we will once again be showing the game free of charge as we continue to iron out the wrinkles.

We will post the link to the live feed on the clubs social media platforms and website at 1.30pm today.

If you are interested in playing for any of the ladies teams, 1st team or academy sides please contact either Neal for the first team or Thomas for the academy.

Ladies Complete The Avenue Family

posted in: Ladies Team News, News | 0

We are delighted to announce today that the club now have an official Ladies side!

Bradford Park Avenue AFC Ladies, who play in the North East Regional Womens League (Southern), have come on board, joining the Mens and Academy sides.

Managed by Neil Asquith, the ladies have had some success recently, reaching the final of the 2018/19 League cup, before an agonising defeat in the last minute.

The ladies will be playing on the brand new 3G pitch and be wearing the same kit as the mens and academy sides.

A delighted Neal said:

Its exciting times for Bradford (Park Avenue), with the Men’s the Academy and now the Ladies. Over the last 12 years we have moved grounds several times so it’s a pleasure to be able to call the Horsfall ‘Home’

The structure of the club is changing for the better and it’s good to see people around with smiles on their faces, this new structure should help every team from the youngsters to the open age attract not just the best talent but raw talent that we can develop to make this club successful on the pitch and in the community. I am looking forward to helping this side of the club develop, with academy teams coming through the system as well.

Football Operations Manager Calum Cullen also commented:

We are absolutely delighted to add the Ladies to our stable of teams. We have a real focus on participation within the club, which has already seen the Academy take shape. Bringing in a Ladies team was a big priority for us this off season, and to add Neal and his side into the fold is brilliant. Ladies football has a real buzz about it right now and we are over the moon to be able to play our part in the growth of the game! We are all looking forward to seeing the team playing on the new pitch and doing the club proud!
