Our final pre-season fixture ahead of the new Pitching In Northern Premier League – East Division season, will be against Gainsborough Trinity on Saturday 1 August, with kick-off at 3pm.
Famous for being the oldest serving single-team football ground in the world, and affectionately known as Northolme, the KAL Group Stadium will host Craig Elliott’s side as we prepare for the new campaign.
The Holy Blues are managed by former Scunthorpe United and Farsley Celtic manager Russ Wilcox. Last season, the home side narrowly missed out on a playoff place by five points, finishing in a respectable seventh position, acquiring 59 points from 40 games. They have lost top goalscorer Jonathan Margetts to Matlock Town but have retained a core of the squad and have strengthened with signings such as midfielder Elliott Whitehouse, winger Theo Williams and striker Connor Brown, as they look to go one step further, this season.
