Parkin is back

We’re pleased to welcome back, fan favourite, Luke Parkin to the Horsfall Community Stadium for the forthcoming 2026-27 season.

Parkin played a huge role at the end of the season, scoring three goals and being part of the squad that won four consecutive matches to reach the Playoffs.

Known by many as ‘Parko,’ Luke started his footballing journey with Leeds United, joining the academy at the age of six and progressing through the ranks to feature for their U21s side.

After a short spell at Guiseley AFC, Parkin had a successful time at Farsley Celtic, becoming a key figure in their forward line. In 2023, he moved on to Silsden AFC, then had a brief spell with Warrington Rylands, before joining Emley AFC for the 2024/25 season.

At the Pewits, Parkin impressed with his attacking prowess, attracting the attention of Bradford’s manager Craig Elliott. In the pre-season of 2025-26, the Avenue manager swooped to sign the striker, to the delight of the Green Army, who have seen the forward be a nemesis against their side in previous years.

Unfortunately, Parkin picked up an injury which hampered his progress during the season, but through hard work and his undoubted talent, the Halifax-born forward forced his way back into the squad and finished the season strongly.

Speaking on his new deal, the 30 year old said:

I’m really happy to sign for BPA for next season. I’ll be working hard to make sure we can go one better and get promoted!

His manager Craig Elliott is confident ‘Parko’ will be a key figure for Avenue during the 2026-27 season:

“Parko had a slow start last season due to injury and unavailability. However, I always knew how good he was and he really showed that in the latter stages of the season. I’m confident with a good pre-season under his belt, Luke will be a key player for us.”

Everyone at the Club is delighted to see ‘Parko’ return to the Avenue and wish him the best of luck for next season.
