Horsfall Pitch Update – The End Is In Sight

posted in: News | 0

Another busy week down at the Horsfall with the laying of the pitch nearly complete. Final work to be done this week subject to the weather remaining dry.

Significant progress has also been made with the new perimeter fence. Whilst volunteers from BPA and West Bowling have also continued with repairing and painting the old fence.

Volunteers have also made a start sprucing up the dugout with a good pressure washing down and lick of paint.

The club will once again be having a volunteer day on Saturday 8th August starting at 9am. With the perimeter fence going up on the outside the club would like to spruce up the existing wooden fence which is remaining in place, with a lick of paint. So if you have an hour or two to spare get yourself down to the ground with a paintbrush and get stuck in. Supply of any Forest Green fence paint would also be appreciated.

From 2pm the Clubhouse and bar will be open for all supporters but with social distancing guidelines adhered to for anyone wanting to call in for a drink.

Highbury find home at the Horsfall

Bradford (Park Avenue) are excited to confirm details of further sponsorship for the upcoming 2020/21 Season.

Highbury Homes, with an office just 5 miles away from the Horsfall, have agreed to sponsor the back of our shorts for the upcoming season. This deal will see their logo appear on the back of the home and away shorts for the Men’s team, with the rest of our squads also displaying their logo on their shorts.

Founded in 1985 by the Thorpe family, Highbury have their roots here in West Yorkshire. They employ 68 people and provide services to a number of sectors, including Social Housing, Insurance, Commercial and Education.

Their extensive workforce allows them to cover not only West Yorkshire, but North and South Yorkshire and even out into Manchester

Football Operations Manager Calum Cullen said; We are thrilled to have Highbury Homes on board with us for next season. They are another local company, who are hugely successful in their field with customer satisfaction always at the top of their priority list. Having spoken with Gareth, his passion for the local community shone through, and resonated with us here at the Horsfall. We are looking forward to a great season with everyone at Highbury Homes.

Commenting on the deal, Gareth Jones, who is MD of Highbury Homes said;

There are many reasons why I wanted to sponsor Bradford (Park Avenue) AFC, but the main one is my love of football!

Bradford (Park Avenue) are a local team, based close to our head offices in Brighouse and supporting the local community is very important to me.

As well as giving something back to the local community through the sponsorship, I’m really looking forward to watching Bradford (Park Avenue) play their way to success next season.

Fans Forum Postponed

posted in: News | 0

Unfortunately, due to the Government announcement last night placing Bradford, Calderdale and Kirklees under further lockdown measures, we have made the decision to postpone the fans forum scheduled to take place on Friday August 7th.

Whilst disappointing, we hope that you can understand that the safety and well being of our fantastic fans and that of our staff remain of upmost importance and to safeguard them, this decision had to be taken.

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused, rest assured this is a postponement and not a cancellation. As soon as it is safe to do so we will be rearranging the night. You will of course be contacted about the rearranged night and we will make sure the news is on our website in advance. Once again, please accept our apologies and stay safe during these unprecedented times.

** Tomorrow’s (Saturday 1st) season ticket signup will still take place, this will not be in the clubhouse anymore and will now be situated behind the goal near the front gate. Masks, and sanitizer need to be used if you still want to come down

Details of the National League re-start dates

posted in: First Team News, News | 0

This week the National League sent out to us a letter stating that subject to FA ratification the new season for teams in the National League North and South would re-start on the 3rd of October with FA cup second qualifying round ties, with fans allowed, subject to government guidance. The number of fans will be determined by each individual ground is what we are lead to believe and not a simple percentage of the total maximum gate. We are currently reviewing the guidance and estimating what our safe maximum would be under these conditions. Currently we believe (and this is subject to change) that the games will require track and trace on all fans (which the new season tickets will help with) and that in all likelihood we will be all ticket at every home game, with preference being given to home season ticket holders.

The National League North and South will be made up of either 42 or 40 rounds of fixtures depending on how many teams will be in each league. If the National League North is the lower number we will refund to any one who has already purchased a season ticket the admission for the that one less game and adjust season ticket prices as soon as we know the exact number of games.

Unfortunately we have already sold out of all of our hospitality packages and our Associate Directorships. If we can secure more capacity in the future we will let you know, but be ready to move quick as Sharon’s gorgeous home cook meals are in hot demand.

The current guidance means that all pre-season friendlies will be behind closed doors, so we are preparing to live stream all of these games so that you can get your BPA fix! Details will follow.

The final league game for the 20/21 season is scheduled for the 29th of May 2021 with the play-offs to be held in June. This time scale is subject to FA approval.

As things develop in this fast moving landscape we will keep you up to date on what we know as quickly as we can.

Since the lockdown the Development Fund have been busy sorting out old programmes from the programme shop and putting them up for sale on eBay with great success. To date we have raised £3.5k from sales for the Development Fund.

More recently Avenue fan Kevin Haley on hearing of this initiative donated several hundred programmes (but not his Avenue collection) which have helped with the above figure, if any other fans are thinking of having a clear out Dave Stordy will gladly take them off your hands, he can be contacted by phone 01274-512989 or email davestordy@hotmail.co.uk.

The Avenue are pleased to announce we will be holding a presentation evening to bring the fans and community up to date about current developments and future plans

posted in: News | 0

We are excited to let you know that on Friday the 7th of August that we will be holding an evening where we would like the chance to lay out our 5-year plan for the club and how we currently see that looking and being executed. At the same time, we would like to explain the current developments and structure at the Horsfall.

The current social distancing regulations means that we will only be able to invite 30 people at a time into the club house (where the bar will be open), this means you will need to register for the event. If we get over capacity then we plan to run multiple sessions during the evening, and we will broadcast one of the sessions on Facebook live, for all those unable to attend. Once we have your request you will be allocated a time for your presentation.

The evening is primarily about the clubs future and plans, explaining how we see that panning out covering player development, the new academy, the new staff, growing the fan base, community diversity and the overall experience with the club from match day to training with us and everything in between. We will also include the unveiling of the two new kits and ticket pricing for the new season.

In attendance from the club will be Martin Knight, Calum Cullen, Alex Cross and Mark Bower and from Horsfall Community Stadium will be Colin Wilson, Robert Clunas and Mark Leadbeater
