Development Fund Update

posted in: Development Fund News, News | 0

Over the last few months the Development Fund have been busy raising vital funds for the club. So want to take a moment to share progress on some of the recent events and future funding projects.

Beer Festival – This successful event took place over the first weekend of September where we managed to raise £2,200 plus £1,100 donated to the 2 charities (Horsfall Trust and Marie Curie), a good weekend was had by all.

Sportsman Dinner – Again another successful evening with great speakers in Mark Crossley and comedian Lea Roberts with further profits of £3,400 raised. Thanks to all sponsors and fans who attended these 2 events.

Having raised money from these events it now time to inform you how this money has been distributed, we have allocated £10k to the team to support further signings on the field of play, further monies have been pledged to support the stadium re-build/improvements with £1,000 going towards new windows in the club house which will help with ventilation, £3,600 towards repairs to the Avenue cafe, £1,500 for support railings in the main stand and finally £9,000 to re-site the bus stop stand. It’s hoped the majority of these improvements will be completed in the next couple of months.

To boost funds we have arranged a comedy/curry evening in the club house for Thursday 18 November 8pm, tickets are limited to 75 priced at £12 each. We have managed to get local comedian Lea Roberts who entertained so well at the sportsman dinner, so hurry to get your ticket from Dave Stordy in the programme shop or after the game in the bar. We do have an alternative to curry in pie’n’peas which must be ordered when purchasing your ticket.

We will also be holding a Christmas raffle with prizes of bottles of spirits, wine and beers, if any fans wish to contribute to the prizes these can be handed over to Dave in the programme shop before any home game (you will have to explain to the steward on the gate what the bottles are for).

Last weekend 5 supporters (Keith Dennison, Steve Horsfield, Keith Bonney, Sharon Burnett and Paula) completed a sponsored walk from Guiseley AFC to Horsfall stadium (total of 11 miles), whilst some will have sponsored individuals we realise that not having a home game game may have prevented some from doing so, we will therefore be having a bucket collection at the Blyth game to reward their efforts, monies raised will be split between the Horsfall Trust and the Development Fund, so please give generously.

Thank you for your continued support.

Jake Hibbs Fundraising Update

Through the efforts of the Development Fund and a fantastic response from supporters all across the country on Jake’s Go Fund Me page. We are pleased to announce that £6,000 has been raised for Jake.

This money has gone straight to Jake to support him and his family following his horrific injury at the Chorley game back in August. We have also yet to have an update from Chorley on the amount they raised as part of their fundraising efforts at the rearranged games. But anything on top of the amount already raised will be a huge support to Jake.

Jake had the following message for supporters when he spoke to the Development Fund:

I’d just like to say a massive thank you to everybody who has donated and supported me through this time. It’s greatly appreciated and will really help me and my family a lot. Hopefully it wont be too long until i am back playing and can thank you all in person.

Everyone at the club would like to wish Jake a speedy recovery and we are looking forward to seeing him back in an Avenue shirt asap.

Bradford (Park Avenue) Development Fund – Fantasy Premier League 2021/22

posted in: Development Fund News, News | 0

We shall be running another Fantasy Premier League this season.

Our Pep Guardiola for 2020-21 was Jordan Tindall with his team Melted Cheese FC and our Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was Matt Ray with Sliced Bread FC.

Our wooden spoonist was Joseph Brown with his team Wednesday Avenue.  Fortunately for Joseph there is no relegation.  He’s going to be better than that this time round.

Of course, you could outperform all of the above.  Prove it by signing up for the 2021-22 season now. The game starts on 13 August.

For joining instructions email keith.bonney@bpafc.com

For a flavour of what it is all about, hop over to the Development Fund page of the website.

Your Chance To Obtain Away Travel Discount

posted in: Development Fund News, News | 0

Changes made by the football club for travelling to games has given the opportunity for running fans only coaches this season.

By paying an upfront fee to the BPA Development Fund and becoming an Away Travel Member, you would benefit from discount on the coach price for all away trips as well as priority booking. Non-members would also be able to book any spare places, but at normal rates.

Membership Fees for the season 2021/22 have been set at £20 Adults, £10 U18/Juniors, payable on, or before, the first booking.

Trips are to be classified as Category A, B, or C, with A being the longer distance ones.

A subsidy for the U18s has also been included when setting prices, coming out of the Development Fund’s fundraising activities, going towards any difference to Adult prices. This idea was picked up from a fan’s comments in fact.

Category A Prices

Members            £19    U18   £12

Non-Members   £22    U18   £14

Category B Prices

Members            £16     U18   £10

Non-Members   £19     U18   £12

Category C Prices

Members            £14     U18    £9

Non-Members   £17     U18   £11

The prices are dependent on the uptake of numbers paying the upfront fee for the discounts, and total numbers booking. More going could see reduced prices. We are looking for a minimum of 31/32 each trip to maintain the prices shown.  To sign up please download and complete the below form:

The first three away league games are;

Aug 14th Kettering   Category B

Aug 28th Chorley     Category C

Sept  4th Darlington Category C

Depart times to be announced, but are to be set at arriving approx 90 minutes before kickoff, 45-60 for any evening games, leaving 30-35 minutes after finishing. Any differences to timings would be notified in advance.

As the saying goes “Book Early!” One for the older ones amongst the Green Army ranks, as opposed to “Don’t Panic!” You just might if the coach is filling up though!
