Your Chance is an innovative, fully funded player-development initiative established by Bradford (Park Avenue) AFC to support talented young footballers who are seeking opportunities to fulfil their potential.
The programme recognises that every player’s journey is different. Some have experienced the disappointment of being released by professional academies, while others have yet to receive the opportunity to demonstrate their abilities within a professional environment.
Your Chance exists to ensure that a setback, rejection or missed opportunity does not have to define a player’s future. We want to put you back in control of your own destiny.
Our purpose
To provide a challenging, supportive and professional-style development environment where players can improve individually and collectively, develop as people and work towards meaningful opportunities within football, education and employment.
Our approach extends beyond coaching sessions. We aim to help players understand their strengths, identify their development needs, take ownership of their progress and develop the characteristics required to succeed in demanding environments.
Two development programmes
Your Chance U16 — Developing potential
A fully funded programme for approximately 17–20 talented U16 players, including those released from professional academies and those aspiring to reach academy level.
The programme provides structured Monday evening coaching, Individual Development Plans and a bespoke competitive games programme, with an emphasis on technical, tactical, physical and personal development.
The U16 programme is fully funded until the end of the 2026/27 season.

Your Chance U19 — Creating the next opportunity
A fully funded programme for up to 20 unsigned U19 players, particularly those released by professional football clubs.
Designed around a professional-style environment, the programme will provide daytime training on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, individual development planning, performance support and a bespoke games programme.
Players will be supported in pursuing five potential progression pathways:
- Returning to professional football.
- Progressing into Bradford (Park Avenue)’s First Team.
- Securing opportunities within paid non-league football.
- Combining football with higher education at a UK university.
- Exploring football and educational opportunities through US colleges.
Appropriate alternative education, training and employment opportunities will also be supported.

Our development approach
Led by the Academy Director, who also serves as Head Coach, Your Chance will combine high-quality coaching with individual assessment, development planning and regular performance reviews.
The programme will draw upon our Academy Director’s football framework, focusing on:
- Helping the players develop individually within the team performance.
- Helping them understand how they think, what they do and how they are as a person and player on and off the pitch.
- How relationships are key to providing positive outcomes.
- Performance analysis, video feedback and physical monitoring will be incorporated as appropriate provision becomes operational.
Our ambition
Success is not defined solely by the number of players who secure professional contracts.
It is measured by how much players develop, the standards they establish, the opportunities they create and their readiness for the next stage of their journey.
We want players to leave Your Chance better equipped technically, tactically, physically and personally, with a clearer understanding of their potential and the opportunities available to them.
