Bradford (Park Avenue) will make the trip to the North East for the second consecutive weekend on Saturday, as they take on Consett AFC in a 3pm kick off.
The Avenue arrive at Belle View Stadium on a club-record unbeaten run of 14 league games since the start of the season, making them the only side in the Northern Premier League East Division yet to taste defeat.
Bradford sit one point clear at the top of the table, having won each of their last six games. The most recent triumph came away at Heaton Stannington, a ground that has often proved a tricky place to visit for the Green Army. However, five goals from Adam Haw and a late strike from Luke Parkin secured an emphatic 6-1 victory over the Stan.
Saturday’s hosts, Consett AFC, sit ninth in the division, just three points adrift of the play-off places. Their strong start to the campaign has been built largely on impressive home form, with six wins from eight matches at Belle View Stadium, and just one defeat.
The Avenue will be hoping their excellent away record can prove decisive, having won five of their six matches on the road so far this season.
While the Avenue prepare for their third consecutive away league fixture, the Steelmen are set to play their third successive game at home. After coming out on the wrong side of an entertaining 6-4 defeat to Matlock Town last Saturday, Consett bounced back in style on Tuesday evening, sweeping Stocksbridge Park Steels aside with a comfortable 4-0 victory. An early strike from Donny Holdsworth put the hosts on their way before Isaac Walker completed a hat-trick to seal an emphatic win.
The Steelmen have been prolific in front of goal at Belle View Stadium this season, netting a remarkable 27 times in just eight home games. With Connor Brown and Jameel Ible both absent through suspension, the Avenue will be without two key figures as they look to contain their free-scoring hosts. Bradford’s defence will need to be at its sharpest to keep Consett’s attacking threat at bay.
The Avenue faithful will have fond memories of their last visit to Consett. Back in February, goals from Ben Andreucci and Louie Chorlton secured a 2-0 victory for Bradford, who had previously played out a goalless draw with the Steelmen in the reverse fixture earlier in the season.
Craig Elliott’s side also came out on top when the two teams met in the Isuzu FA Trophy Second Qualifying Round in September 2025. Second half strikes from Connor Shanks and Tom Corner proved enough to see the Avenue defeat the Steelmen and book their place in the next round.
The Avenue face another stern test on the road on Saturday as they travel to take on a Consett side with an impressive home record and plenty of goals in their locker. Bradford will be determined to rise to the challenge, build on their recent run of excellent form and strengthen their position at the summit of the table. With their unbeaten start to the campaign already setting a new club record, the Green Army will be hoping to make it 15 games without defeat and continue their impressive march at the top of the Northern Premier League East Division.
