Ekpolo commits future

The Club is delighted to announce midfielder Prince Ekpolo has extended his stay at the Horsfall Community Stadium.

The midfield general, and fan favourite, is a key part of our ambitious plans and strengthens an already healthy and competitive squad, going into the 2026-27 campaign.

Bringing leadership, experience and relentless energy to the heart of the Avenue team, the Nigerian-born midfielder joined BPA after a successful spell with local neighbours; Guiseley AFC, winning many individual accolades during his time at Nethermoor.

Having started his footballing journey in Spain at the age of nine, Ekpolo moved to England in 2016 and has been a constant driving force in the middle of the pitch for teams such as Burscough, Glossop North End, AFC Telford United and Guiseley AFC.

The 32 year old was snapped up by Craig Elliott during the 2024-25 pre-season and held the highest number of appearances during the last campaign, making 49 appearances and three as a substitute, in all competitions. He also scored one goal, which was a long-range effort away at Hallam FC, securing a draw in South Yorkshire in 2025.

Returning for a second season with BPA, Ekpolo is hungry for success:

“I’m absolutely delighted to be staying at the Club for another season. We’ve built a brilliant foundation, but I truly believe there is so much more to come from this group. I’m already buzzing to return, work hard in pre-season and help push the Club forward and up the league. Thank you to everyone associated with BPA for your continued support and I can’t wait to see everyone at the Horsfall Community Stadium soon.”

His manager Craig Elliott recognises the importance of Prince in his plans for next season:

“I’m delighted to bring Prince back this season. Every successful team needs a player like Prince, someone who does the hard yards for the team. He breaks up play better than anybody in this league and covers so much ground, week in, week out. He’s a popular player amongst the players and the supporters and I’m hopeful for another big season from him.”

Everyone at the Club is delighted to see Prince back in the middle of the park and wish him all the best for next season.

You can watch Prince in the green and white / red, amber and black of Avenue with your 2026-27 season ticket. Sales have been strong but we know there’s some of you out there who haven’t managed to buy yours yet, and this announcement may convince you to return, or even, get your first ever BPA season ticket! The Early Bird deadline is approaching and we’d love to see as many of you at the Horsfall to support the boys.

Due to ongoing maintenance with the website and online club shop, you can email hayley.durkan@bpafc.com who’ll be happy to help you. Also, the club shop at the stadium will be open every Wednesday between 5pm – 8pm as an invitation for supporters to buy / collect their season ticket in person. Thank you for your loyal support, it’s greatly appreciated.
