Moke returns

The Club is delighted to announce the return of midfielder Adriano Moke.

The popular figure joined BPA in 2025 and played a crucial role in the heart of the midfield, and, with his experience and leadership, is looking to help the Club go one step further during the upcoming campaign.

The Portuguese-born midfielder, who started his footballing journey as a goalkeeper, took his gloves off and was picked up by Leeds United, after being involved at a young age with Manchester United and Barnsley. From Elland Road, Moke moved to Nottingham Forest at youth level before joining the Glenn Hoddle Academy in Spain.

Moke returned to England and signed for York City in 2011, and enjoyed two spells including promotion to the Football League and lifting the FA Trophy at Wembley.

The 36 year old moved from York City to Cambridge United in 2012. Following his time at the Abbey Stadium, Moke featured for Tamworth, Macclesfield, FC Halifax Town, Stockport County, Wrexham and Boreham Wood before moving back to York in 2016, where he won the FA Trophy in 2017.

In 2020, Moke made the move to the North East to play for Spennymoor Town and switched to Darlington FC, a couple of years later. In 2024, the midfielder left Darlington FC and joined Hednesford Town, before short stints with Guiseley AFC and Albion Sports.

Returning to the Horsfall, Moke is excited for the new season:

“I’m delighted to return for the upcoming season. It’s a big, big season for everyone because of how we ended last season and there’ll be an expectation for us to go one better. I’ll do my best for my teammates, the fans, staff and volunteers and help get this Club promoted… let’s get it!”

His manager Craig Elliott highlights the importance of the role Moke can play during the 2026-27 campaign:

“Adriano gives that vital experience on the pitch and a sense of calmness on the ball. He knows what success looks like and I’m delighted to sign him again for next season. He is a great influence on the younger players and is a brilliant personality in the dressing room, and around the Club.”
