We’re pleased to announce Louie Chorlton has committed his future to Bradford (Park Avenue).
A dynamic winger who enjoys getting forward and supporting the attack, Louie has signed on the dotted line to return for a second season in a green and white jersey.
Chorlton, 23, joined the Avenue after a successful spell at Pontefract Collieries, making 71 appearances and scoring 10 goals during his time at the Hunters Stadium.
This is Chorlton’s second stint at Avenue, having previously spent a month-long loan spell, as a right-back, during our 2022/23 National League North season, making six appearances.
He began his career at Rochdale, where he was part of the side that won the 2020/21 EFL Youth Alliance Cup, contributing to the team’s goal tally from defence. Chorlton’s development also included time at Bradford City (U18s) and Hull City (U21s), gaining valuable experience before making his mark in senior football.
Last season, Chorlton was a key provider of assists and goals, from both flanks, with his explosive running and an eye for goal. Unfortunately for Chorlton, his season came to an disappointing end, suffering an injury in the Playoff Semi-Final victory at Matlock Town which ruled him out of the Playoff Final.
Since returning to the Horsfall, Chorlton admits it’s good to be back at the Avenue:
“I’m delighted to stay for another year! We were one kick away from promotion last season and everyone is hungry to go and win the league. I’m looking forward to working hard in pre-season and having an even better season!”
A big admirer of Chorlton is his manager Craig Elliott, and he knows how important the winger will be for the squad:
“Louie gives pace and direct running style that not many players possess in the modern game. His stats were good and we definitely missed him in the Playoff Final. But, he’s another young and hungry player who I expect to continue to improve and add even more goals and assists to his game.”
Everyone at the Club is looking forward to seeing Louie run down the wing in a Bradford shirt and wish him the best of luck for next season.
