Covid restrictions and ‘Cash on the gate’

posted in: First Team News, News | 0

Horsfall Stadium now entertains an increasing number of visitors and, hopefully, an increasing number of spectators to games.

We are also obliged to facilitate access to all areas whilst we encourage people to take suitable precautions with regards to Covid.

Our long-term aim is to move towards being cashless as a stadium, so we have set up a ticketing agency for events and card-readers for cashless payments.

We are aware that cash is still widely used, though it carries two risks, firstly a Covid risk of transfer, which is hopefully mitigated by the use and availability of hand sanitisers and secondly a security risk to employees and volunteers from the risk of theft or attacks. This is why we are very keen for users of the stadium to move towards an increasing use of cards and ticketing.

Hopefully we can also reduce queuing this way, which helps with social distancing where it helps us to operate efficiently.

As cash is still accepted inside the stadium (where would we be without Trevor and John collecting raffle money?) we are experimenting with continuing to accept cash on the turnstiles for BPA’s next two pre-season friendlies to see if we are managing to encourage more cashless solutions whilst allowing cash on the turnstiles and for food and drink purchases.

Hopefully all our regular users will help us to increase cashless usage and we will assess our progress after those games.

For the two PSFs coming up cash, cards and tickets will be accepted at turnstiles but we ask that folk do their best to go cashless, for the security and benefit to all of us, and to use hand sanitisers if they use cash.

Everton Friendly – PAY ON THE GATE

posted in: First Team News, News | 0

Following consultation with the authorities in Bradford, as well our own fans, we are pleased to announce that there will be a pay on the gate option at Wednesday night’s friendly versus Everton.

However, this will be card only, and no cash sales for tickets will be permitted. As a club, we are trying to make sure that we still have certain protocols in place in order to protect you the fans, the players of both clubs and of course the wider public. A no cash sale on tickets is part of that process.

Remember, the game itself kicks off at 7pm on the night!

Everton Ticket Update

posted in: First Team News, News | 0

Following discussions with some supporters, we are aware of a number of our fans having difficulty purchasing tickets online for the Everton game.

As a club, we are still determined to use ‘best practice’ when it comes to the selling of tickets and in particular the use of cash.

However, given these discussions, we have decided to open our club shop on Friday 17:00-18:00 purely for the sale of tickets.

If you are struggling, come down to the stadium, and we will book your tickets for you. You can pay by cash or card on the night.

Bradford City – Parking and Stream Update

posted in: First Team News, News | 0

The club would like to inform fans of the following two updates regarding tonights match.

CAR PARK – The car park tonight will only be available to the players of each side. This is due to a mixture of poor weather making a lot of the area unusable, and with both sides bringing in extra players who are all having to travel separately. This has culminated in there not being enough space. Alternative parking can be found on Halifax Road, and Cemetery Road, please DO NOT park in the Cemetery itself.

STREAMING – Unfortunately, Mick Gledhill is not available tonight, but what a replacement we have drafted in! Lewis Sale will ‘man the mic’ tonight in Micks absence. Lewis has previously commentated on the games, and we are looking forward to hearing his voice again!
