Bradford (Park Avenue) will be looking to strengthen their grip on top spot in the Northern Premier League East Division when they travel to Bridlington Town on Tuesday evening (20 October), for a 7:45pm kick off.

The Avenue reclaimed top spot on Saturday with an emphatic 4-1 victory over Ashington AFC at the Horsfall Community Stadium. A dominant first half display saw the Green Army race into a 3-0 lead at the break, courtesy of goals from Jake Thompson, Scott Duxbury and Ben Andreucci.

Although the Colliers pulled a goal back after the interval, Bradford remained firmly in control and sealed an impressive victory in the final minute, as Thompson grabbed his second of the afternoon to cap a deserved man of the match performance.

With Liversedge suffering defeat away to Matlock Town, the result propelled Avenue back to the top of the table and extended their unbeaten start to the league campaign to 12 matches – their best start to a season since 1964.

After an inconsistent start to the season, Bridlington Town have found some stability in recent weeks, putting together a four-game unbeaten run. The Seasiders currently occupy 13th place in a tightly packed mid-table, sitting just four points adrift of the play-off places, having played slightly fewer games than the teams around them.

Bridlington return to the HDM Energies Stadium on Tuesday after a pair of away fixtures last week yielded four points. The Seasiders began with a 1-0 victory over Stockbridge Park Steels before earning a hard-fought 1-1 draw away to Pontefract Collieries on Saturday.

Ifeanyi ‘Destiny’ Nnenanya opened the scoring against the Colls, netting his second goal in three appearances, only for Connor O’Grady to equalise soon after. Nevertheless. Bridlington will take plenty of encouragement from a valuable point against a Pontefract side yet to taste defeat on home soil this season.

The Green Army will be hoping for a change in fortunes against the Seasiders after the two sides shared the points in both of their meetings last season. The first encounter ended in a goalless draw at Queensgate in September 2025, before the Avenue let a two-goal lead slip to draw 2-2 with Bridlington at the Horsfall Community Stadium in January.

Goals from Marcus Carver and Connor Shanks had put Bradford in a commanding position, but the Seasiders fought back through Tom Allan and Hamza Hamdosh to earn a share of the spoils.

With the Avenue looking to maintain their place at the summit and extend their unbeaten league run, the Green Army will be keen to see their side carry Saturday’s impressive performance into Tuesday evening. However, Bridlington arrive in confident form after four games without defeat and will be determined to continue their recent resurgence. The Seasiders have proven difficult to overcome in recent weeks, meaning Bradford must show the same attacking quality and composure that served them so well against Ashington if they are to return from the East Yorkshire coast with a positive result.
