Statement: Squad Status

posted in: First Team News, News | 0

The club would like to issue the below update regarding the playing squad.

Bradford (Park Avenue) would like to provide supporters with an update on our squad following the end of the season.

Having announced earlier this week the departures of Mark Ross and Nicky Clee, we can also confirm that Jordan Windass, Akeem Hinds and Luke Rawson will not be offered contracts for next season and will therefore be leaving the club. We would like to wish all the players the best of luck for the future and thank them for their efforts whilst representing The Avenue.

Following the end of their loan spells Lewis Knight and Taylor Ragan have returned to their parent clubs. Again we would like to thank them for their efforts whilst with us.

Mitch Lund, Dylan Mottley-Henry, Harrison Hopper and Sam Fielding are all contracted for next season.

Discussions are taking place with the remaining members of the squad and we hope to be in a position to make further announcements in the coming days and weeks.

Rossy Departs

posted in: First Team News, News | 0

Mark Ross will leave the club this summer at the expiry of his contract. He has been an integral part of our team for several seasons and a firm favourite amongst supporters.
Mark has a thriving business which is taking up more of his time and he has decided to step away from football for the time being to focus more on his work.
Assistant manager Danny Boshell said ” Rossy has been a model pro for us in his time at the club and a real Mr reliable.
He’s a tremendous athlete and his level of fitness would put many full time pro’s to shame and has consistently performed for us week in, week out at right back and in the centre of our defence. He will be a big loss.”
Everyone at the club thanks Rossy for his loyalty and service to the Avenue and wishes him the best of luck. He will be welcome back to the Horsfall at any time in the future.

G.O.A.T To Leave BPA

posted in: First Team News, News | 0

Following the end of the 2021/22 season, the club can announce that popular player Nicky Clee will be leaving the club at the expiry of his contract.

The 38 year old joined the club in 2017 and was a key member of the squad that reached the National League North play offs in 2018 and 2019. After a short spell away, Nicky returned to the club and has continued to be a firm fans favourite with his technical ability and wand of a left foot.

Manager Mark Bower said, “Nicky has been a fantastic servant to BPA. Not only has he produced for us on the pitch, he has been a great influence in our dressing room amongst his teammates and in particular our younger players. To still be playing at this level, in his late thirties is a testament to how well he has looked after himself.”

Everyone at the Avenue wishes Nicky all the best and thank him for his commitment to the club and we look forward to seeing him at a game at The Horsfall in the future.

Mitch Perfect for Avenue | Contract Extension Signifies Intent

posted in: First Team News, News | 0

We are delighted to announce that we have reached an agreement with Mitch Lund to extend his contract with the club until the summer of 2023

Mitch has been a stalwart in defence this season, and with him now clear of a recently injury niggle, we are delighted that he has put pen to paper.

On the news Mitch said: I’m overjoyed to be staying here for another season. I have a great relationship with the lads, and enjoy playing for Bows (Manager Mark Bower) and Bosh (Assistant Daniel Boshell)

Mitch becomes our latest signing for next season joining Sam Fielding, Harrison Hopper and Dylan Mottley-Henry in committing as we continue to build a strong squad for the 2022/23 season.
