Shanks is back

We’re pleased to confirm Connor Shanks is staying at Bradford (Park Avenue) for the 2026-27 season.

‘Shanksy’ has made over 100 appearances for the Avenue and has been a key figure of Craig Elliott’s squad, since the manager took over the reins in 2025.

Born in Halifax, Shanks came through the ranks at Huddersfield Town before joining Bradford City’s Academy in 2017. He made his senior debut in the EFL Trophy for the Bantams in September 2017, before returning to the Terriers. After loans spells at Nuneaton Borough and Boston United, Shanks made a permanent move to North East outfit Spennymoor Town in 2023. After a short loan stint with Avenue, Shanks made the move to Gainsborough Trinity before returning to the Horsfall Community Stadium in 2024.

Last season, Shanks reached a significant milestone with the Green Army, making his 100th appearance in the green and white, playing a crucial role in securing a playoff position on the final day of the regular season.

The 24 year old is delighted to return to Bradford, who he has a huge affinity for:

“We will bounce back from last season. I’m really looking forward to seeing all the lads again because we have a great squad. Everyone in the group will give everything for the fans next season to achieve what we all want.”

The Avenue manager Craig Elliott is pleased to work with the midfielder again:

“I’m delighted to work with Connor again. He is a manager’s dream because he’s always available to train and play and gives everything for the badge, week in, week out. He can play in a number of positions and I believe he’s coming to a big period in his career, where I expect him to be an influential player for us.”

Everyone at the Club is delighted to welcome Connor back to the Horsfall Community Stadium and can’t wait to see him have a big year for the Green Army.
