PRESS RELEASE: Ashman and La Bastide complete loan moves

posted in: First Team News, News | 0

Bradford (Park Avenue) can confirm that Josh Ashman and Myles La Bastide have both completed loan moves, with standard recall clauses included in each agreement.

Defender Josh Ashman, sponsored by Shahidas Café, has joined Mickleover.

Ashman arrived at the Horsfall in September of the 2024/25 season after previous spells with Guiseley and Matlock Town. A former Sheffield Wednesday academy player and U21s captain, he has brought composure and physical presence to Avenue’s back line.

Josh made 35 appearances and scored three goals last season, forming a strong partnership with Mark Beevers. This campaign he has continued to feature consistently, making eight starts and three further appearances from the bench.

Forward Myles La Bastide, sponsored by RAB 43-, has joined Silsden AFC.

A product of Avenue’s Football Education Programme, La Bastide signed his first professional contract in 2023 and has since gained valuable senior experience on loan at Frickley and Pontefract.

He made 18 appearances and scored four goals in his debut year, adding six goals from 23 outings last season. So far in 2025/26, Myles has made two starts and seven substitute appearances, finding the net once.

Manager Craig Elliott had this to say on Josh and Myles’ respective loan moves:

“Both Josh and Myles are still very much part of my plans for this season. However, both players need a few games to keep them match-fit and confident for when we need them back in the team.

“These loans will help everyone in the short term, support both players, and I hope they have successful spells.”

Everyone at Bradford (Park Avenue) wishes Josh and Myles the very best during their respective loan spells.

Bradford (Park Avenue) and Sports Foundation Explore New Partnership with Leeds Bradford Airport

Bradford (Park Avenue) AFC and the Bradford (Park Avenue) Sports Foundation recently held a highly productive meeting at Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA) to explore a new partnership that could benefit the wider club, our Foundation programmes, and communities across Bradford.

Representing both the club and Foundation, Community Director Mathew Everett met with Kunaal James Wharfe and Lindsay Beresford FCIPD to discuss how Bradford (Park Avenue) and LBA could work together across several exciting areas, strengthening local connections and creating new opportunities for young people, supporters, and staff.

The group identified three key areas to develop further:

Careers & Aspirations

Collaborating on pathways and opportunities for post-16 students linked to LBA, including careers engagement, workplace visits, and potential education-to-employment routes for young people involved in the club and Foundation.

Charity Football Match

Planning a fun, engaging charity football match for Leeds Bradford Airport staff — using football to promote wellbeing, teamwork, and fundraising for community projects.

Advertising & Visibility

Exploring mutually beneficial visibility and sponsorship opportunities, strengthening the connection between LBA and Bradford (Park Avenue), and supporting the growth of both the club and Foundation brand.

This meeting reflects the shared commitment of Bradford (Park Avenue) AFC and LBA to support young people, create opportunity, and champion the Bradford district through partnership working.

Special thanks to our ED&I Consultant Humayun Islam BEM BCAc for helping connect both organisations and contributing to the discussion.

Bradford (Park Avenue) AFC and the Sports Foundation look forward to progressing these ideas and building a strong, long-term relationship with Leeds Bradford Airport.

Match Preview: Newton Aycliffe vs Bradford (Park Avenue)

Northern Premier League East Division
Tuesday 18 November 2025 – 7:45pm KO
Newton Aycliffe Sports Club

Bradford (Park Avenue) return to league action tonight with a trip to County Durham to face Newton Aycliffe, as Craig Elliott’s side look to build on an encouraging performance at Radcliffe in the FA Trophy.

Avenue arrive sitting third in the Northern Premier League East Division with 31 points from 17 matches. Saturday’s penalty shootout defeat at Radcliffe came after an impressive 2-2 draw in normal time, featuring goals from Marcus Carver and Charlie Winfield and a much-improved overall display.

With league fixtures now returning thick and fast, tonight presents an important chance to maintain pressure on the top two and continue building momentum.

Newton Aycliffe currently sit 19th in the table with 16 points from 16 games. Their recent form includes a 2-2 home draw with Lincoln United, while Saturday’s scheduled trip to North Ferriby was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. Despite their league position, Aycliffe have proven competitive throughout the season and will be looking to climb out of the bottom three with a positive result on home soil.

Avenue will need to be sharp, disciplined and clinical to secure points away from home, with another committed performance required to break down a determined opponent.

Isuzu FA Trophy – Second Round
Saturday 15 November 2025 | 3:00pm KO
Neuven Stadium, M26 3PE

Bradford (Park Avenue) are back in FA Trophy action this weekend as they make the trip to Radcliffe in the Second Round.

Craig Elliott’s side will be aiming to bounce back after last weekend’s defeat to league leaders Redcar Athletic, which brought an end to Avenue’s impressive unbeaten away run. A strong performance at the Neuven Stadium would see Avenue look to rediscover the form that carried them past higher league opposition Morpeth Town in the previous round.

Saturday’s opponents Radcliffe are enjoying another strong campaign in the National League North, currently sitting third in the table after an impressive run of results that includes a 3–1 win over Darlington, a 5–1 victory at Kidderminster Harriers, and a recent 2–2 draw with Chorley. The Boro have proven themselves one of the most consistent sides at step two, boasting a potent attack and a formidable home record at the Neuven Stadium.

For Avenue, the tie represents a valuable test against higher-league opposition — and an opportunity to showcase their quality and resilience on the road. Elliott will be hoping to see a strong response from his side as they aim to reach the Third Round.

MATCH PREVIEW | Redcar Athletic (A)

posted in: First Team News, News | 0

Bradford (Park Avenue) make the trip to the Yorkshire Coast this weekend to take on Redcar Athletic at Green Lane in the Northern Premier League East Division.

Craig Elliott’s side come into the fixture on the back of a determined 1–0 victory over Garforth Town last Saturday, where Louie Chorlton’s thunderbolt proved the difference. Avenue showed real character to control the second half and protect their lead late on, earning a valuable three points that lifted them up to third place in the table.

The Green Army now face their toughest test yet against a Redcar side who have set the pace at the top of the division. The Seasiders, based in the Redcar and Cleveland area, have enjoyed a flying start to the campaign — winning 13 of their opening 16 games and scoring an astonishing 62 goals, the league’s highest tally by far. Their emphatic 6–0 win at Ossett United last weekend underlined their attacking power.

Avenue, unbeaten in six across all competitions, will be looking to continue their momentum and make a statement against the league leaders as they push to close the gap at the summit.

The fixture was originally scheduled for Saturday 15th November but has been moved due to our continued progression in the Isuzu FA Trophy, where we will now face Radcliffe FC away in the Second Round on that date.

We can also confirm our draw for the West Riding County Cup Second Round, with Avenue set to travel to Selby Town on Tuesday 2nd December (7:45pm).

Bradford (Park Avenue) Sign Striker Adam Haw from Cleethorpes Town

posted in: First Team News, News | 0

Bradford (Park Avenue) are delighted to announce the signing of striker Adam Haw from Cleethorpes Town for an undisclosed fee, further strengthening Craig Elliott’s squad as the season continues.

The club would like to extend its thanks to the Bradford (Park Avenue) Development Fund for their invaluable support in helping get the deal over the line.

Haw, 23, began his career at Guiseley AFC, before spells with Mickleover, Atherton Collieries, and Pontefract Collieries, where he caught attention for his sharp finishing and relentless work rate. He joined Cleethorpes in the summer of 2024 and quickly became a key figure in their promotion-winning side, scoring 20 goals in 49 appearances during the 2024/25 campaign, followed by four goals in 14 matches so far this season.

Now linking up with Craig Elliott’s side, Haw will be looking to continue his strong form in front of goal in the Pitching In Northern Premier League East Division and is available immediately for selection in Saturday’s fixture against Garforth Town.

Speaking after completing his move, Adam Haw said:

“I’m delighted to sign for the club and thanks to Craig for wanting me in the group. I know a few of the players and I’m looking forward to getting started.”

First Team Manager Craig Elliott added:

“I am absolutely delighted to get this deal over the line. He is someone I’ve been chasing for a while.

Adam first came to my attention a few years ago, scoring goals and helping Pontefract Colls reach the play-offs. Since then, he’s gone on to improve his game at Cleethorpes, continuing to score goals and helping them to promotion last season.

His work rate is fantastic for the team and he’s still young enough to only get better. He lives fairly local, knows most of the lads, and has worked with my assistant Danny — so it ticked all the boxes for the type of player we wanted to bring into this team.”

Welcome to the Horsfall, Adam

Match Preview: Bradford (Park Avenue) vs Garforth Town

posted in: First Team News, News | 0

Saturday 1 November 2025 | 3:00pm
Horsfall Community Stadium, BD6 2NG

Bradford (Park Avenue) return to league action at Horsfall on Saturday as Craig Elliott’s side host Garforth Town in the Northern Premier League East Division.

Avenue sit 3rd after 15 games (W7 D7 L1), boasting the division’s best defensive record so far (9 conceded). Recent weeks have brought a mix of tight league contests and cup progress: a 0–0 draw with Heaton Stannington followed the 2–2 at Silsden.

Last time out Avenue defeated higher-league Morpeth Town 4–2 on penalties after a 1–1 draw in the FA Trophy. Louie Chorlton put Avenue ahead in a dominant first half, before Morpeth levelled on 61 minutes. Jack Hall produced a vital late save to force the shootout, where Morpeth missed twice and Avenue advanced.

Craig Elliott said:
“We put in a strong first-half performance where we dominated and played some great football. The only disappointment was not adding to the one goal.”
On the turnaround after half-time: “They came out aggressively and pinned us in a bit. The wind played a part and we didn’t adapt as well as we could, but in the end we found a way to win, which is what matters in cup football.”
Elliott also praised the shootout composure: “It’s not luck with penalties, it’s about technique and focus, and the players showed that.”

Garforth arrive 13th with 18 points from 15 matches. Their October results show variability: an impressive 3–0 away win at Bridlington and a 3–0 home win over Ossett United were balanced by defeats to Redcar Athletic and Heaton Stannington, plus a 1–1 draw at Consett. They have scored 22 and conceded 23, underlining the threat they pose in transition and from set-plays.

Match details & tickets

With momentum from last weekend’s Trophy progression and a strong defensive platform, Avenue will look to turn performances into three league points in front of the home crowd.
