As exclusively announced in Saturday’s matchday programme, Bradford (Park Avenue) AFC are delighted to announce a new partnership with MIND in Bradford.
Mind in Bradford was set up more than 30 years ago by a group of people who were looking for more mental health and wellbeing support. The organisation became affiliated to national Mind but is still an independent charity which relies on its own resources to provide award-winning local services to people in Bradford, Airedale, Wharfedale and Craven.
Hayley Smith, Communications Manager for Mind in Bradford said:
“We know that stigma still exists around mental health. We want to remind people visiting this community stadium that we’re here to help. Guide-Line provides emotional, confidential support every day of the year from 8am until midnight. Whether you prefer to speak to someone over the phone or use the live chat service, please reach out and don’t suffer alone.”
Avenue’s Commercial Director Calum Cullen also had this to say on the new partnership:
‘Bringing in a mental health partner to this football club is great news. MIND are a fantastic organisation and are really helping in an area still seen as a taboo subject. The guide line is a fantastic initiative, and it’s a pleasure to put our backing into the project. I would like to echo Hayleys words – if you are struggling, please reach out, there are people that can help and assist you.’
The new partnership will see MIND advertising around the pitch at the Horsfall Community Stadium.
