A Message from our Sporting Director

posted in: First Team News, News | 0

Firstly, I hope everyone is well.

I would like to thank you all for all your support throughout the season. Our loyal supporters and volunteers really do showcase what this club is all about. Your passion and commitment is second to none.

Over the last 4 home games we have seen a significant increase in our attendances. This is down to a lot of hard work from a small but dedicated team of people. It has demonstrated what is possible when we get good people who are passionate and ambitious enough to think outside the box. I would like to thank you all. I would also like to thank the staff and volunteers who have stepped up so well to cope with the additional demand during this time.

Our attention now turns to our final game of the regular league campaign. Hopefully come 5pm on Saturday we are looking forward to a play off game next week. We have a tough game ahead of us to get over the line. My best wishes goes to Craig and the team. The club directors have kindly agreed to subsidise a fantastic offer for our supporters to make the trip to Ossett on Saturday. We are putting on a bus for those needing transport from the Horsfall with a great offer to include some pre match food and entry to the game, all for just £20 or £10 for u16’s. Only a few spaces remain so thank you to the board and to those loyal fans who have snapped up our offer. Book your spot here!

Planning has been well underway for next season. As usual we have a plan A and a plan B to ensure we continue on an upward trajectory. We will communicate more with you all when appropriate.

We will be launching our new season ticket offer this coming Friday. We seen a massive 148% increase in season ticket holders this season compared to last. This was helped by an excellent early bird offer kindly supported by Gareth. We will see an increase in price for next season but it is still excellent value for money and early uptake will help us with early acquisitions to the squad for next season.

Behind the scenes we have lots of exciting things happening with new investment and support coming on board to help with our long term ambitions. It is a great time to be involved with the club and one to be embraced. In the off-season you can still support the club by buying some club merchandise or an early bird season ticket. You could also offer your support by volunteering, we will be looking to expand on our volunteer base next season and beyond so reach out if you think you can add value to our club.

I hope to see as many of you as possible on Saturday. If you can’t make it be sure to tune in and listen to Lewis on our fantastic radio service ‘Avenue on Air’. Special mention to Lewis for his excellent commentary and to Keith Dennison for his vision and fundraising efforts for getting it started this season. It has been a real success!!

Up the Avenue.

MATCH PREVIEW: GRIMSBY BOROUGH VS BRADFORD (PARK AVENUE)

posted in: First Team News, News | 0

Bradford (Park Avenue) are back on the road this Saturday with a big three points on the line as they travel to face Grimsby Borough in the Northern Premier League East Division.

Avenue head into the weekend sitting 6th in the table on 66 points, four points off the play-off places with three games remaining, knowing every result now carries huge significance in the run-in.

Grimsby Borough sit 14th on 46 points, and will be looking to finish their season strongly on home turf.

The Green Army go into the game in confident mood after Easter Monday’s emphatic 8-0 win over Brighouse Town at Horsfall, one of the club’s biggest results in recent years. That victory responded in perfect fashion to the narrow defeat at Dunston and kept Avenue firmly in the hunt at the top end of the division.

Recent form suggests Saturday’s contest could be a tight one. Avenue have taken seven points from their last six matches, while Grimsby Borough have picked up eight in the same period. Borough were held to a 1-1 draw at North Ferriby on Monday, having beaten Newton Aycliffe 1-0 in their previous home outing.

There is also little room for complacency despite the gap in league position. Grimsby have shown they can be competitive, while Avenue know they must back up Monday’s brilliant display with another strong performance away from home.

With the play-off chase intensifying and time running out in the season, Avenue will be aiming to deliver another statement performance and take maximum points back to Horsfall.

Bradford (Park Avenue) return to Horsfall Community Stadium on Bank Holiday Monday looking to bounce back quickly and strengthen their play-off push.

Avenue go into the game sixth in the table on 63 points, while Brighouse Town sit 22nd on 31 points. The visitors have taken 3 points from their last six matches, while Avenue have picked up 7 from their last six and will be aiming to make home advantage count.

Horsfall has been a strong base for Avenue this season, with 10 wins, 6 draws and just 3 defeats from 19 home league matches. Brighouse’s away record stands at 4 wins, 2 draws and 13 losses from 19 games on the road, giving Avenue plenty of reason to be confident heading into Monday’s clash.

There is plenty going on around the ground ahead of kick-off, with an Easter Egg Hunt from 2pm, live music and £2.50 pints from 1pm until 2pm, plus a half-time crossbar challenge. Supporters can also enjoy Taplins food, slush puppies, treat stalls and face painting.

Bradford (Park Avenue) and the BPA Sports Foundation are proud to be reaching new heights through an exciting partnership with Leeds Bradford Airport.

Ashman Recalled from Mickleover Loan

posted in: First Team News, News | 0

Bradford (Park Avenue) can confirm that Josh Ashman has been recalled from his loan spell with Mickleover.

The defender saw his loan with the Northern Premier League Midlands Division side extended in early March, before now returning to Horsfall ahead of the final stages of the season.

During his time with Mickleover, Ashman made 11 appearances, along with a further 3 appearances from the bench, gaining valuable first-team experience and consistent minutes at Step 4 level.

His spell away has played an important role in his continued development, and he now returns to rejoin the Avenue squad for the run-in.

Everyone at Bradford (Park Avenue) looks forward to welcoming Josh back for our six remaining home matches, as we look to push back into the playoffs.

Match Preview: Bradford (Park Avenue) vs Hallam

posted in: First Team News, News | 0

Bradford (Park Avenue) return to Horsfall this Saturday for Non-League Day 2026, hosting Hallam in the Northern Premier League East Division.

Avenue head into the game sitting 6th in the table with 60 points from 36 matches, firmly in the mix at the top end of the division. However, recent form has been mixed, with two wins, one draw and three defeats in the last six. Last weekend’s 1-1 draw against league leaders Redcar Athletic did show the level this side can reach, and they will be looking to carry that performance into Saturday.

Hallam, meanwhile, arrive in 11th place on 47 points. Their recent run has been slightly stronger, picking up three wins, two draws and just one defeat from their last six outings. That includes an impressive away win at Bishop Auckland last time out, suggesting they will come to Horsfall with confidence.

Despite the gap in the table, Hallam’s recent form indicates this will be far from straightforward. Avenue will need to be at their best to turn control into points as the season enters its final stretch.

Off the pitch, it promises to be a big day at Horsfall as part of Non-League Day.

Supporters can enjoy live music from 1pm, alongside £2.50 pints available pre-match between 1pm and 3pm. There will also be pre-match games on the pitch and a half-time crossbar challenge to keep the atmosphere going throughout the afternoon.

In case you missed them last weekend, our food offerings have also been refreshed, with Taplin’s burgers and BPA hot dogs available from the Green Army Cafe.

There’s added incentive for Premier League and EFL season ticket holders, who can attend for just £5.

With a strong crowd expected and important points on the line, Horsfall is set for another big afternoon.

Message from our Sporting Director

A big thanks to our supporters, partners and behind the scenes team for a successful day on Saturday. A big crowd enjoyed the afternoon. We had a massive effort in local schools thanks to Mat Everett from our Foundation and on Friday evening at Bradford Bulls where we had a real strong representation from our team and a huge thanks to Jason from the Bulls for the opportunity. Well done to Mat and Tom Stevens for a great effort.

Well done to Craig and the team for their performance. Redcar have been the standout team all season. I thought we were the better team which was helped by the fantastic support from the crowd.

Saturday was the result of a lot of planning and effort over a six week period by many staff and volunteers. A real collective effort and a big thanks to club director Paul Armitage for subsidising the cheap pints, resulting in a lot of sore heads on Sunday morning. This week we are doing another big push to try and get as many people in as possible. Live music, £2.50 a pint, stalls and some pre match games from our talented junior section are some of the big attractions.

Ronnie the Ram will be making an appearance this week in Broadway, Darley Street Market and local schools to hand out some free tickets. Tag a school of your choice to nominate for some free tickets and a potential visit from Ronnie.

I hope to see many of you on Saturday as we continue our push for a play off place.

Up the Avenue!

Horsfall Hosts the Next Wave of Matchday Storytellers

The Bradford (Park Avenue) Sports Foundation has successfully delivered Part 1 of Words of the Game, an innovative project using football to support literacy and oracy development in schools across the BD6 and BD7 areas.

Funded by Pitching In’s Trident Community Fund and delivered in partnership with TagTiv8 and Burley Banksy, the programme uses the matchday environment at Horsfall to bring learning to life in a creative and engaging way.

Matchday Learning in Action

Part 1 of the project saw pupils attend a live matchday experience at Horsfall Community Stadium, where they took part in a structured workshop focused on match report writing.

Using the game as inspiration, students were encouraged to observe, analyse and capture key moments, developing their writing and communication skills in a format that felt relevant and exciting. The session created a strong connection between football and literacy, helping pupils engage with writing in a new and meaningful way.

Creating Opportunity Through Partnership

The delivery of Words of the Game has been made possible through strong partnership working. Support from the Pitching In Trident Community Fund has enabled the Foundation to respond directly to local educational needs, while TagTiv8 and Burley Banksy have helped bring creativity and energy to the project.

Together, the programme has provided young people with an opportunity to express themselves, build confidence and develop key skills in a supportive environment.

Looking Ahead to Part 2

Following the success of the initial matchday session, the Foundation will continue working closely with local schools over the coming weeks to develop Part 2 of Words of the Game.

This next phase will focus on further engagement in schools, building on the foundations of Part 1 and supporting pupils as they continue to develop their writing and creative skills.

A Platform for Young Voices

Words of the Game is about more than writing. It is about giving young people a platform, helping them find their voice and showing how football can be used as a powerful tool for education and personal development.

The Bradford (Park Avenue) Sports Foundation looks forward to continuing the journey with local schools and seeing the impact of the programme grow in the weeks ahead.
